This pack may have been designed for adventure racing, but it is suitable for all adventures. I started using my Laser 20 Elite pack for long multipitch ice and alpine climbing routes, and it is the best pack I have yet found for this purpose. It weighs almost nothing, takes up almost no space in my main climbing pack, and feels like nothing at all while I'm climbing. When I get to the base of a climb, I pull out the Laser 20 Elite and pack it with my belay parka, snacks, and water. It accepts everything with plenty of room to spare, yet doesn't shift around on my back, thanks to the sternum strap. If you're looking for a lightweight, compact leader pack then I highly recommend this for you. The hip belt pockets are great for storing gels/snacks when trekking or stabilizing the pack on lower angled pitches. The water resistant fabric and closure design are helpful, especially when you take off the pack to access the contents.
