Millet Peuterey ReviewField Test and Video Review of the Millet Peuterey
Millet is one of the most experienced brands in mountain sports, with over 50 years of history on the worlds most technical mountains. Millet packs were used on the first ascent of Annapurna, and mountaineering boots from Millet are a favorite of climbers on peaks over 8,000 meters. The peuterey comes in 3 sizes(35, 40, and 50 liters). The pack is made with strong, reinforced 420D Velocity nylon and 420D Oxford nylon. These materials are durable and keep the pack's contents dry. The bottom of the pack uses 2 layers of 1200D Cordura Nylon that is coated with Plyurathane and are sandwiched together for added durability and water resistance. We have found Millet packs to the most comfortable packs we have tested, and they are a favorite among the staff at ProLite Gear. The pack employs a Free Flex Frame System, a removable flexible plastic frame sheet in conjunction with free floating shoulder straps that adds rigidity and improves the pack's load-carrying capacity when you add heavy gear or skis to the mix. The Millet Pueterey's top lid is designed to allow a full range of motion when wearing a helmet. A helmet hits the top lids on other packs we have tested, but the Pueterey provides ample clearance. The Peuterey's full-length side zipper allows for easy access to items like a belay parka. The exterior crampon pouch is lined with Hypalon, an extremely durable rubberized material that withstands sharp points. The crampon pouch has an open-construction at the bottom which allows snow, ice and water to drain effectively. The Millet Peuterey pack has a Hypalon® ice axe holder, three ski straps on each side, and other features. The Millet Peuterey is a durable, comfortable, great all around mountaineering pack, and excels as an ice climbing pack. Our only complaint is that at 4.2 pounds(1.91 Kilograms) the pack is heavy. But we appreciate that the weight is due to the strong and durable material, and the pack is so comfortable that it doesn't feel heavy when carrying it. Raiting:
