Rab Alpine Glove

I shred though gloves during ice climbing and alpine climbing and I think the Rab alpine gloves might be the new ones for me. Dont expect alot of warmth from them and that is why they got 4 stars. But for what they are these gloves are awesome.

I just returned from an ice climbing trip in Hyalite Canyon, Montana and got to put the Rab Alpine Glove and Shadow Hoodie to the test. I was super impressed with both! Right out of the box I had doubts about the gloves due to a slippery feel on the goat skin palm. However, after one pitch the slippery finish (some kind of oil from the factory?) wore right off and they were nice and tacky. The cuff fit perfectly under or over my layers (depending on what I was wearing) and kept me surprisingly warm even when it was only 10-20 degrees F. The fit wasn't too bulky and didn't give you that bunched up feeling that so many other gloves do. After four days of aggressive use, they didn't show any signs of wear. Unlike many other gloves, the reinforced palm covers all the spots that usually wear out from rappelling/lowering. After all the raving I did about the gloves on the first day, my partners started trying them out and never wanted to give them back. These gloves are now my go to glove for any ice or mixed route.
