Mammut Phoenix 8mm 70m Rope

I switched to half ropes for ice climbing this past winter and appreciate the extra safety built into the half rope system. All season long I used one Mammut Phoenix 8mm 70m rope and one different rope just to test and compare. The Phoenix NEVER iced up. Once or twice did I find a small section that stiffened a bit after a long day of several pitches, but remains supple and dry 95% of the time. I have never had to worry about the Phoenix icing up, which means a lot when you're on the sharp end. The 70m length allows for long, full length rappels and the peace of mind that there is always enough rope to reach that next belay or rappel station. After using 70 meter half ropes, I'll never use anything different.
