I purchased these poles because of their lite weight performance. They were very comfortable to use, until the shaft sheared off of one of the poles. This occurred after only two outings. I tried to contact Komperdell to get teh warranty work done, but they would never respond to my emails. My friend had the same thing happened to his Komperdell poles. You have to contact Komperdell in Germany. Anyway, your best bet is to buy another brand. These poles are junk!

I and my hiking partner used these poles on an 11 day hike on the John Muir trail in August 2008, and after 5 days the tips started to loosen up and my partner's tips fell out of the poles. I'm very dissatisfied with the performance of the poles.
