I don't own this tent, and most probably never will. The design is
flexible enough and there's versatility in so far as a system goes.
But considering the price point, all you are paying for is the weight reduction.
For minimalist "packers" this meets the requirements. However, keep in mind that cuben fiber cannot take much abuse.
For an avid person who uses their equipment and doesn't "baby" it,
this is good for approximately a year and then it's time to buy another.
For the money, there are other alternatives available which can take abuse better than this will.
Looks good, interesting approach, but not durable. I had a light weight back pack made out of cuben fiber and it lasted less than one year.
It's okay to spend money to save weight. But durability is one aspect that's critical to avoid a lost adventure, or having a trek ruined by equipment failure.
Good luck with this one folks!!!
Echo I

All Cuben Fiber is not created equal.I own the Echo 1 which is made in the USA. I have thru hiked the A/T, hiked in the winter and summer in the Whites and Adirondacks with my Echo 1 with no problems. The Echo 1 has exceeded all expectations and continues to be my tent of choice. As with the Windrider pack by HMG made of Cuben Fiber I could not be happier and they are worth every dollar.
I will say I have owned cuben fiber stuff sacks made by another company and they did fall apart a couple of weeks into my thru hike. I will stay with Hyperlite Mountain Gear products.
HMG Echo II

I have owned several types of cubin fiber backpacking products and agree that sometimes quality and performance over time becomes an issue. However my Hyperlight Mountain Gear (HMG) Echo II ultralight shelter system has not only been extremely light but durable and well worth my investment. This shelter system was instrumental on my 2011 Appalachian Trail Thru hike. As a New York state licensed guide and an avid hiker who has actually used this product and owns it, I would whole heartily without reservation recommend this shelter system.
