A
great
system for all seasons. The first and only 4 season tarp scenario and
it weighs in way under any tent's weight. Easy to set-up, versatile,
and completely functional. I was completely dry in a 3 day blizzard
with 90mph winds and over 6 foot drifts. It even seemed like the more
snow that fell and blew the better the shelter got. I never felt like I
sacrificed my safety by using this system instead of a tent. ~Trauma

"Top Tarp Value"
"Ten
thousand miles. That's how far thru-hiker Justin Lichter carried this
superlight, floorless tarp during his yearlong effort to hike the
Pacific Crest Trail, The Continental Divide Trail, and the Eastern
Divide Trail (Which combines the Appalachian and Florida Trails). It's
likely he faced more bad weather than any other hiker last year, and he
came back singing the Northern Light's praises. One of our editors,
after multiple test trips in the Rockies, concurred: "This tarp is
light, sits tight to the ground, and the pitch is smart and easy. You
simply rig it like a clothesline between two trekking poles." Setup
requires 12 stakes; foldable flaps along the bottom edge keep water
from dripping inside. For extra protection, you can add optional
closures, called Dodgers.
