I have this alcohol stove. Without the pot stand and a wind shield, the results are rather iffy. I have the entire kit which is a shield and a diffuser plate.
Still, you will need a shield such as the Vargo Volcano - either stainless or titanium wood stove for this to work properly.
The diffuser plate is too thin and warps almost immediately.
However, the two burner system of flame introduction works great. It beats the rest.
Keep in mind that by the time you have a container for the required fuel, the stove and other required items, you're going to be on the heavy side.
The drawback is that you aren't cooking anythin that takes more than 10 minutes.
This is so simply because elevation, wind, barometric pressure, and temperature all have an effect of efficiency.
Often, as is the case with this product, utility and reliability is sacrificed for the purpose of being able to offer the lightest weight.
A quiet product, efficient burning of fuel, but a challenges in Winter environs and wet weather.
Good all around stove fair weather, but have plan "B" when trekking with this one.
