Description

Zipka Headlamp - The Zipka is essentially the same triple-LED light as the popular Petzl Tikka, but it features a retractable dyneema cord instead of a headband, giving you the versatility of attaching it to other places besides your head (like your wrist, ankle or pack). The strap design shaves six grams off the weight of the Zipka, so most of the 64 remaining grams consist of the three AAA batteries. This is a great light for day hikers, backpackers, campers and fly fishing folk who can't tie their tippets by the light of the moon.

Note: The Zipka is not intended for use in harsh environments (caving, diving...), as getting mud or sand in the reel can permanently damage it.

Safety note: The Zipka is not recommended for children as the cord can pose a risk of strangulation. The cord is designed to break free of the reel around 20 kg (44 lbs) of pressure.

"The Petzl Zipka is an outstanding performer. We were impressed with its beam quality, brightness, and compact form factor. Further, we were surprised by its cold-conditions performance, considering that it uses alkaline AAA batteries (which currently have no Lithium option). For its weight, it's hard to find a headlamp that is as simple to operate, or is a better all-around performer."
