Staff comments: After using this jacket backpacking multiple times I'm not sure what I did without it. Probably shivered a lot. It's much warmer than fleece and way lighter. It compacts so small it takes up almost no room in your pack.

It is freakin awesome this jacket always finds it self in my pack. As a mid layer descending a peak or as a great warm backpacking jacket. The best part is it only weighs 5.7 ounces.

I use this under my shell for winter conditions and with only a base layer under it I am amazed what this light weight garment does for me. I have heavier, warmer, jackets, but lately I take this one to save weight and have never been disappointed. I'm not sure the advertised weight is exactly right, but within an ounce or two. Expensive, but it will last a long time and you will get a lot of use out of this versitile jacket.

Excellent, well-built, light jacket. I pair the jacket with a mont-bell windshirt for added warmth, wind and weatherproofing.
