Cassin C-Comp Crampons

The Cassin C Comp crampons are durable, and even though the name implies it is for comp routes the reality is it is just as good for steep climbing on ice or rock. The hard steel makes the crampon very rigid which is important in saving energy and providing stability. The secondary points rake very well, meaning on featured ice it is easier to get a resting position and on mixed routes you can keep your feet on the rock longer. Also they are light due to the smaller rear plate which on steep ice and rock you use infrequently, except for standing on cauliflower and the points provided do that adequately. The replaceable front point means the crampons have a longer life, however you will have to do a lot of kicking into rock to need to change them often.
