These are ideal for warm weather mountaineering or spring backpacking when you want protection from granular snow but don’t want insulation. I can now self-arrest without losing skin! Perfect when the biting insects swarm and you still need your hands – filter water, eat a snack, etc. They’re lightweight and take up almost no space. I carry a pair of lightweight breathable gloves and the Windmit’n as a shell when necessary.

This is the most versatile glove I own to date. When I am skinning up a peak and the wind starts blowing and fleece gloves are not enough these save the day. I have a pairs that permanently live in my hip pockets on my ski packs. I also use them road biking. They are the perfect for keeping a little rain and wind off your hands. Plus 15 grams for the pair.
